Fantastic news!
Woodbridge has been chosen to be be one of the 16 towns in Suffolk through which the Olympic torch relay passes on its way to London next year.
The other Suffolk towns through which the Olympic flame will be carried between 5-7 July 2012 are:
Lowestoft, Wrentham, Reydon, Southwold, Kelsale, Saxmundham, Aldeburgh, Wickham Market, Ufford, Melton, Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Ipswich, Haverhill, Bury St Edmunds, and Newmarket
Just wondering what if anything is being arranged for Woodbridge. I have looked a number of times for news on the website http://woodbridge.onesuffolk.net/ but this is not giving much away apart from the fact that my name and picture is displayed as one of the Torchbearers.
Just wondering do Woodbridge want us Torchbearers to do anything other than carry the torch through the Town on 5th July? I have had no contact from anyone in the Town.
I am trying to plan my days after the Torch passes through Woodbridge ~ only commitment at present is to attend School Assembly at Chelmondiston Primary to give the children a close encounter with an unlit torch ! But again no contact has been received from any Woodbridge school or local Youth organisation.
Just seems a bit strange given the excitement over the Torch relay in other parts of the country that things seem so quiet in Woodbridge.

Dear Clive – it sounds very disappointing! As Suffolk Coastal District Council is handling the Olympic Torch event, rather than Suffolk County Council, I have forwarded your concerns directly to SC District Cabinet member for Leisure and Economic Development, Geoff Holdcroft, who is also District Councillor for Woodbridge’s Riverside. I hope he can answer your concerns
